Tikhtak's Creative Toolbox

Last year I decided to create a blog with lots of warm up games, ice breakers and drama exercises to be used with small or large groups. If nothing else it has proved a resource for me and has been a useful place to store new ideas I have been picking up whilst doing my MA in Applied Drama. Download Yeh but!

We have just put a resource called Yeh but! about Freedom for Church youth groups up on our Free For All website. It is co-written by the CMS Youth team and CPAS. It looks at the story of Moses and explores, spiritual freedom, the slave trade and the abolitionists fight for freedom 200 years ago and modern day fights for Freedom. Do it anyway

Mother Theresa hung a copy of this poem on a wall in the orphanage she founded in Calcutta, the source is unknown. but it's a great tonic for the weekend.

People are often unreasonable, illogical,
And self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you
Of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some
False friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank;
People may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;

You see, in the final analysis
it is between you and God
It was never between you and them anyway.

Loyal Supporter

I have written an eshort comparing the loyal support of Liverpool on the night they came back from 3 goals down with the loyal support of St Alban when Britain got it's first 3 Martyrs in one day. Check it out on my Youth E short blog
