I arrived at Redcliffe College in Gloucester to run a selection of workshops from Free For All at the Partners in Mission conference. Anita joined me and together with 20 or so Missioners serving or about to serve in countries from Africa to Asia, we set about constructing a performance piece. Milena (The Conference Magician from Czech) helped us greatly by cobbling together two sailor hats out of paper and a bed sheet, which we used as a ships sail. We worked our way from sugar consumption led by Robbie Langford (East Africa) in England to the abuse of trade in west Africa and the middle passage. Michael Green serving in Jordan performed unwittingly a stunning interpration through vigorous movement with the ships sail (bed sheet) as the ship headed for the caribbean and Ruth Radley (Sudan) bellowed out orders as the captain. Anita linked the scenes with narration and after an exuberant battle of Trafalgar, the children at the conference performed the fight in parliament as seasoned professionals. Unfortunately we performed to no audience except for that of a camera lens, the proof of which will be displayed here in due course. Well done to all who took part.
