Yesterday Big Intent (Dan and Yo) and myself ran Free for all workshops at the CMS Directors and Managers conference. It was great to work with colleagues from both the UK and around the world and see them in a very different light. We started by sitting them all on the carpet - Managers and Directors on the carpet :) Then Dan led a warm up getting people to wear a neutral mask by walking around in a defined space. We then split into three
groups; a singing group (Ayozie), a Text group (Dan) and a Physical theatre group (Me). Everybody took to it like fish to water. There were some impressive performances from Paul Bigmore from fundraising (incredible focus), Timothy Okorev the regional manager for Central and Eastern Europe ( a true thesp in the stanislavsky school) and Tim Daikin the CMS Gen sec (beautiful subtlety and sensitivity). The workshops and performance gave everyone (including us) a taste of whats to come and brought the reality of Free for all a little bit closer.
