FREE FOR ALL

Finale reach for hope 2

The Free For All Project works with education centres, cathedrals and schools, giving thousands of children the opportunity to explore what freedom means today, as well as its importance for the future of our world. This project has been running since 2007 and was set up to commemorate the bicentenary of the abolition of the slave trade bill in 1807

Sussannah Synopsis - Through drama, song and dance, the story of a young girl taken captive from her home town Sierra Leone by an English Slave ship Captain weaves in and out of some of the most dramatic historical events that shaped the modern era. Through physical theatre we show the American War of Independence, the French Revolution, Caribbean uprisings, massive anti-slavery campaigns in the industrial cities and the Battle of Trafalgar. We meet some of the brave men and women who stood up against the slave trade and explore the legacy it leaves with us today.

Booking - The workshops can be booked for a day long for two actors  working with up to 80 children for a block fee of £440 or with up to 105 children for £660. The day consists of morning and afternoon workshops brought to life by a fully costumed performance.

Multimedia - Free For All has been followed by radio and TV all over the country. To follow some of these reports click here
