CMS' official opening in Oxford

Oxford_pic Yesterday I went along to the opening of the new CMS house in Oxford, which was officially opened by the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams. He gave a challenging message about how mission needs to impact our own lives first before it can have an impact to those around. I am also thankful to Mike North for snapping meAbcpreaches500px  as I read out William Wilberforce's speech in 1789 to parliament as part of the service. It was good to see talented colleagues involved in the worship band and in other parts of the service. (Get Jonny bakers worship installation here) Other parts of the day included a great lunch and a chance to catch up with people in and around the CMS world. Check out the official CMS write up and pictures of the day.

Free For All at Southwark Cathedral

Middle_passage_2 At the moment we are having a weeks rest from Free For All as we then go into the home straight of Southwark_cathedral_inside_2 the tour. Last week we were local in Southwark Cathedral  working with some great schools from across south London. During the week Mike and I also worked for a day in Pendragon Special school in Bromley, which was both incredibly rewarding and tiring. Check out write ups and pictures from these events on our our Free For All blog

What's the crack

The_crack I have uploaded some pictures to Flickr of our recent trip to the Tate with friends Polly from Deddington to see a crack which runs the length of the main hall. We also went out for an evening  of Pizza in Streatham with my Dad and Step Mum. Check them out by clicking here

40th Birthday

Cake We celebrated our 40th Birthday at the Manor Arms Pub in Clapham on Friday night. Thanks to Irfana and Ayozie for their hard work in organising it and putting on great food and a fine evening of performance and cabaret . Everyone who came got involved and joined in 80's sing alongs and inpromptu acts, if their name was drawn from a hat. Check out some photos of the evening on my flickr

Free For All in Chichester and trax16

Chichester_cathedral Our most recent Free For All took us to Chichester Cathedral. we have introduced the English Rugby National anthem "Swing low sweet charriot." as our finale song as it is topical at the moment and of course has it's origins in the slave plantations. Check out the most recent write up on our blog and pictures and also why not download trax16, which looks at Harvest this month with a thought to boot on etrax.
